Good evening and welcome to the New Hampshire Debates. I'm Allison McNair. Joining us tonight are two candidates for Congress in District One - Republican Incumbent John E. Sununu and Democratic state Representative Martha Fuller Clark. First, a word about the format. Tonight's debate is divided into two parts. During our first half hour, a panel of journalists will question the candidates. They are: Garry Rayno of the Union Leader and Barbara MacLeod from New England Cable News. Then, following a short break, the candidates will have an opportunity to question each other in the second half of the debate. We'll begin with opening statements. The order was determined by random drawing. Representative Clark, you have one minute. |
